She was predeceased by: her parents, Malcolm Monroe Thurston and Louise Pugh Thurston; and her husband Charles Douglas Carter, Jr.. She is survived by: her children, Bradley Douglas Carter (Marian) and Sherry East; her brother Malcolm Glenn "Mac" Thurston; her grandchildren, Taylor, Kevin, Lindsay, Kristen, Katie and Jason; and her great grandchildren, Makayla, Delmar, Austin, Angelina, Daniel, Hannah and Christian. She is also survived by her family, friends.

She routinely sent donations to organizations supporting our Veterans and animal rescues.
