He is survived by: his children, Wilma Salyer (Garnie) of Nickelsville, VA, Kathy Starnes (Jimmy) of Fort Blackmore, VA, Joan Payne of Gate City, VA, Jimmy Ramey (Judy) of Gate City, VA and Joey Ramey (Diane) of Sneedville, TN; his siblings, Katie Ingle (Denver), Janice Sutherland, Gracie Lane and William Ramey (Roma); his grandchildren, Pamela, Amanda, Kimberly, Kaylee, Rhianna, Christopher, Elizabeth and Jennifer; and his great grandchildren, Collin, Maddison, Emma, Jacob, Nathaniel, Raelyn, Remi and Henry.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, January 13th 2026 at 10:45 AM at the Starnes Cemetery. A graveside service was held on Tuesday, January 13th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
