With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Murray Anthony Selby Sr. of Fort Valley, Virginia, who passed away on October 5, 2025 at the age of 84. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Anthony and Bertha Kathryn Murray Selby; his wife Madeline Louise Ford Selby; and his sister JoAnne Halterman. He is survived by: his children, Murray A. Selby Jr. (Amy) of Fort Valley, Joseph A. Selby (Marcy) of Woodstock, Michael L. Selby (Donna) of Elkton, VA, Thomas J. Selby (Melissa) of Fort Valley, VA and Deborah L. Taylor (Adam) of Edinburg; and his sister Micki Barbour (Tom) of Fort Valley, VA. He is also survived by fifteen grandchildren; and thirteen great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 11th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Valley Funeral Service (14116 S Middle Rd, Edinburg, VA 22824). A funeral service will be held on Sunday, October 12th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Sunday, October 12th 2025 at the Isaiah Clem Cemetery (1559 Camp Roosevelt Rd, Fort Valley, VA 22652).
