He was predeceased by: his parents, Emily Gatten, and Dr. Ernest B. Gatten, Jr.; and his sister Caroline Gatten. He is survived by: his wife Andrea Cherie'Gatten; his stepchildren, Brianna Levine (Kevin), Erin Karmilovich-Weaver (Malachi) and Conner Karmilovich; his grandchildren, Adelyn and Eloise Weaver; his brother Dr. E. Burdette Gatten, III (Joann); his niece Dr. Gabby Gatten (Daniel Bagbey); his niece Barclay Gatten; his cousins, Becky Jester (Frank), Catherine Diesta (Robert), Meredith Martin (John) and William De Luca (Sarah); Greer. He is also survived by friends, his family.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 6th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Ben Dillon Life Center/Rock Church (130 Lakeview Rd, Franklin, VA 23851).
