With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Clara Sonnier Richard of Franklin, Virginia, who passed away on January 26, 2024 at the age of 90. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by : her parents, Agnes Ewing Sonnier and Antoine Sonnier. She is survived by : her siblings, Camille "Buddy" Paul Sonnier (Alice), Ralph "Pie" Luke Sonnier and Zilda "Kitten" Sonnier Vincent; her son Mark James Richard; her grandsons, Roman, Deacon and Anton; her daughter Julie Richard Flournoy (John); and her granddaughters, Maggie and Ava.

Claire's final request, in lieu of flowers or donations, was this: "Mend a relationship, take a friend to lunch, write to a friend.
