In the sacred silence of farewell, Gaunce is released into the embrace of eternity, knowing that his light will continue to shine brightly in the tapestry of the lives of his loved ones. He was predeceased by: his mother Elizabeth Bellamy; his son James Robert Gaunce; and his brother James Gaunce. He is survived by: his wife Patricia Brannock Gaunce; his daughter Victoria Boughton (Brendan); his grandchildren, Caitlin, Maegan and Connor Boughton; and his sisters, Anna Cassity of Paris, KY and Margaret Pittman (William) of Lawrenceburg, KY. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was held on Wednesday, December 3rd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Jude's Catholic Church (1014 Clay St, Franklin, VA 23851).
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Catholic Church or any veteran's homeless program.
