It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of James Andrew Eckenrode of Franklin, Virginia, born in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, who passed away on February 1, 2023, at the age of 97, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Andrew and Barbara Amelia Saltsgiver Eckenrode; and his wife Mary Frances Gehl Eckenrode. He is survived by: his children, Barbara Schaefer, Frances Eckenrode, Maria Sing (Calvin), Margaret Sorenson and James P. Eckenrode (Kim). He is also survived by seven grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30PM Tuesday in Wright Funeral Home and suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to St. Jude Catholic Church.
