It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Jesse Dempsey Gardner Jr. of Franklin, Virginia, who passed away on May 7, 2025, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesse Dempsey Gardner, Sr. and Annie Turner Gardner Cutchins; his stepfather Harvey Cutchins; and his siblings-in-law, Doris Bulls, Charles Bulls, Ray Haynie and Lee Tolliver.
He is survived by: his wife Anne Bulls Gardner; and his children, Pamela Grumbles (Mark), Jesse Gardner, III (Carol) and Mark Gardner (Lisa). He is also survived by eight grandchildren; and 17 great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church and suggests that memorial donations be made to Black Creek Baptist Church.
