With sadness, we share the passing of Dean Eugene Shaffer (Fredericksburg, Virginia). Dean, born on September 12, 1967, passed away on August 22, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his father Frank E. Shaffer. He is survived by: his friend Mary; his wife Mary Shaffer; his mother Janet L. Shaffer; his sons, Jeremy David, Justin Daniel and Joseph Dean "JJ"; his grandchildren, Serena, Tru, Charlie and Tayani; and his siblings, Rodney, Tim, Tina and Beverly.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, August 29th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Christ (11925 Burgess Ln, Fredericksburg, VA 22407).
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully asks that donations be made to Open Doors, an organization close to Dean's heart and one that reflects his passion for making God's Word available to people around the world.
