It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ernest Arthur Holmes of Fredericksburg, Virginia, who passed away on April 20, 2026, at the age of 73, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Gordon Holmes and Barbara Dow. He is survived by: his wife Dianne; his siblings, Elmer of Canaan, ME, Greta Holmes-Wilson (Scott) of Presque Isle, ME and Gerald of East Hartford, CT; his daughters, Shannon Sullivan (William), Celena Marquez (JP) and Crystal Caperton (Denham); his grandchildren, Jonathan Furnia (Erin), Jessica Hutchinson (Shawn), Nicholas Furnia, Anthony Holmes and Airman Jack Bruso; his great grandchildren, Jackson Furnia, Isabelle Holmes, Eli Hutchinson, Theodore Holmes, Everlee Furnia, Jeff and Vicky Beasley; Mark Bruso, Nick and Tammy McDaniel.
