He is survived by: his significant other Tom Marra; his son Darrick Washington (Jim Meiers); his siblings, Linda Johnson (Melvin Johnson), Alvin Washington and Joseph Washington (Virginia); and his nieces and nephews, Cynthia Ayeh-Kumi (Edwin), Tina Napier, Thomasine Wright, Manuel "Junior" Jackson and Joseph "Lil Joe" Washington.
