He is survived by: his wife Wyndy L. Oakes; his son River F. Oakes; his mother Charlotte Pinder; his stepchildren, Bethany R., Destiny F. and E. J. K.; and his siblings, Stephanie (Mike Wyne), Gregory (Mary Oakes), Carol (John Schembari), Linda (James Johnson), Chris (Nina Pinder) and Annisa (Kevin Staats). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to help with the hospital, medical and burial cost.
