He was predeceased by: his parents, Hazel Samuel and Roosevelt Porter, Jr.; his son Jermaine Samuel; and his brothers, Kenneth, Eric and Ralph Samuel.
He is survived by: his wife Verdena Samuel; his son Roland Samuel, Jr. (Nadia); and his siblings, Dennis Samuel (Tanya) and Marylin Smith (Griffin). He is also survived by several grandchildren, nieces, nephews, a host of "sister cousins", extended family.
Viewing was held on Wednesday, July 23rd 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the A. L. Bennett and Son Funeral Home (200 Butternut Dr, Fredericksburg, VA 22408). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, July 23rd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
