She is survived by: her husband Butch Shields; her daughters, Kimberly Mills (Brad) of Ruther Glen and Jennifer Copley (Sean) of Evans, Georgia; her grandchildren, Payton Mitchell (Connor) of Fredericksburg, Aaron, Caleb and Leah Copley of Evans, Georgia; and her siblings, Harold Shaffer of Catonsville, Maryland and Linda Shaffer of Sprague, WV.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her name to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (pancan.org) or the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation (komen.org).
