He was predeceased by: his parents, William Francis Watson and Mattie St. John Giles. He is survived by: his wife Nancy Parrish Watson; his children, Pete Watson (Teresa), Lydia Watson Codutti and Sandra Watson Levy; his grandchildren, Joshua Levy, Nicholas Codutti (Jennifer), Sara Cowan (Dan) and William "Rooster" Watson (Samantha); and his sister Elizabeth Jenkins. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
