William leaves behind cherished memories for friends, family, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. William’s life was marked by connections and experiences that touched those around him. Though he is no longer with us, the moments shared, the laughter, and the support he offered will continue to resonate. All who knew William will carry forward his memory in their hearts.
He was predeceased by: his parents, William H. Griffin and Katherine Prince Griffin of Freeman, Virginia.; and his sister Jean Prince Batman. He is survived by: his wife Yvonne Marie Griffin of Watertown; his children, William Brian Griffin (Susan) of Grimesland, Ashby Wade Griffin (Bethany) of Prince George and Kristin Anne Haggett (Steve Miller) of Prince George; and his siblings, Samuel Gray Griffin (Sandra) of Freeman and Kathy Elizabeth Anglin of Freeman. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, September 16th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory - Colonial Heights (2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, VA 23834). A graveside service was held on Thursday, September 17th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Reedy Creek Baptist Church Cemetery (1919 Reedy Creek Rd, Freeman, VA 23856).
