He is survived by: his mother Pauline Parks Brooms of Independence; his son Shawn Brooms of Galax, Virginia; his brother Denny; his sister-in-law Cindy Brooms of Fries, Virginia; his sister Lily Slate of Woodlawn, Virginia; his brother-in-law Roger Price of Fries, Virginia; and his close friend Mary Ellen Rhudy. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 22nd 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home (201 W Center St, Galax, VA 24333). A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, July 22nd 2025 at 11:30 AM at the Monta Vista Cemetery (1031 Glendale Rd, Galax, VA 24333).
