He was predeceased by: his parents, John James and Barbara Grace Gleason; and his sister Mary Gleason. He is survived by: his wife Susan Kent Trogdon Gleason of Fries, Virginia; his daughter Claire Burke Gleason of Blacksburg, Virginia; his siblings, John (Peggy Gleason, Jr.), Peter Gleason, William (Mary Anne Gleason) and Laura; and his siblings-in-law, John Moran of Wheaton, Illinois and Karen Kluever of Franklin. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
