She was predeceased by : her parents, Virginia Shearouse and Osgood Shearouse. She is survived by : her husband Elmer Shaffer; her children, Charles Shaffer (Laura Maxey), Brian Shaffer (Tina), Edith Shaffer and William Shaffer (Sara); her grandchildren, Duane Shaffer and Lisa Shaffer; and her siblings, Mary Bach and Charles Shearouse (Linda).

Visitation was held on Friday, April 26th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Maddox Funeral Home (105 W Main St, Front Royal, VA 22630). A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 27th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
