She was predeceased by: her parents, William P. Thomas and Lettie Dove Thomas; her husband William Murphy; and her siblings, Geraldine Davis, Darlene Halterman and Ken Thomas.
She is survived by: her son Forrest "Chip" Mathias II (Lorie); her grandchildren, Kasey Hayes (Sean) and Brian Mathias; her great grandchildren, Beau Hayes and Wade Hayes; her stepsister Doris Mongold (Ed); and her sisters-in-law, Charlotte Murphy, Beatrice Oakes and Diane Murphy. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, May 13th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Maddox Funeral Home (105 W Main St, Front Royal, VA 22630). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, May 13th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
