He was predeceased by: his wife Dorothy Marie Baugher Mathews; and his siblings, Lillie Evans of Louisiana and Elwood Miller Mathews of Front Royal. He is survived by: his children, Paul Eugene Mathews Jr. and Debra Mathews Fouchy; his children-in-law, Linda Mathews and Tom Fouchy; and his sisters, Deianna Stephen Silvia of North Carolina and Lillion "Faye" Realini Lyons of Maryland.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, October 1st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Maddox Funeral Home (105 W Main St, Front Royal, VA 22630). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, October 1st 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
