He was predeceased by : his parents, Melvin M. Bailey and Nina Dyer Grimes; his son Avery Bailey; his grandson Tyler Bailey; and his brothers, Melvin Bailey Jr. and Morris Bailey.

He is survived by : his wife Catherine Owens Bailey; his sons, Billy Bailey, Troy Bailey and Don Bailey; and his sister Shirley Swann. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.

A graveside service was held on Monday, April 15th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Panorama Memorial Gardens (4917 Strasburg Rd, Strasburg, VA 22657).
