He was predeceased by: his mother Elizabeth Morgan Yates. He is survived by: his wife Marie Adams; his children, Tina Brendle of Low Gap, VA, Lindsay Yates of Nashville, TN, Kayla Yates of Galax, VA and Josh (Tamera Yates); and his siblings, Terry (Frances Yates) and Susan (Dale Holden). He is also survived by eleven grandchildren.
