With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Beryl Jean Leonard of Galax, Virginia, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on June 20, 2025 at the age of 83. She was predeceased by: her parents, Lester Barrett and Ocie Barrett; her husband Dean M. Leonard; her sister Phyllis Sapp; and her brothers-in-law, Roy Hyatt and Wayne Sapp.
She is survived by: her daughter Rhonda; her son-in-law Mark Higgins of Galax, Virginia; her sons, Jerry (Anna Leonard), John Leonard of Fries and Robert (Laura Leonard); her sisters, Mary "Inky" Hyatt of Woodlawn and Debbie (Edwin Tompkins); her aunt Jetta Taylor; her grandchildren, Heather Evans (Brandon), Tilden Leonard, John Leonard Jr., Bryant Leonard, Mylinda Howard (Josh) and Ashley Brannock (Jamie); her stepgrandchildren, John Bedwell (Jessie), Mark Bedwell (Holly), Jonah Sharp and Katie Sharp; and her great grandchildren, Chloey Bobbitt, Christian Evans, Lily Brannock, Riley Brannock, Riley Howard and Harper Howard. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
