He was predeceased by: his parents, Clyde Wesley and Evelyn Odine Gravley Akers. He is survived by: his wife Eva G. Akers; his stepson Robert Thomas, Jr.; and his siblings, Danny Akers, Claude Akers, Sr., Jacky Akers, Ricky Akers, Claude Akers "Butch", Lee Akers and Debbie Buchanan. He is also survived by several grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
