Bruce touched many lives and will be remembered fondly for the moments shared and the memories created. Family, friends, and colleagues extend their love and support during this time. While Bruce’s presence will be missed, the influence he had on others will remain. Those who knew him will carry forward memories that reflect his character and spirit.
He was predeceased by: his parents, William "Bud" Ayers and Brenda Ayers (Parkinson); his wife Patricia; and his sister Charlene Ayers (Freppel). He is survived by: his sons, Reid (Lisa) of Canton and Scott (Andrea) of Fredericksburg, Virginia; his grandsons, Ben and Wilson; and his close friend Nancy Parlasca of Ennice. He is also survived by other relatives and many friends.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, October 18th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Galax Presbyterian Church (200 W Center St, Galax, VA 24333).
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Galax Presbyterian Church in Bruce's memory.
