She was predeceased by: her parents, Raymond Dotson and Clara Dotson; her husband Ernest W. Smith, Sr.; and her grandson William Nelson. She is survived by: her children, Gretta Jennings (Larry) of Galax, Joyce Sames (Chris) of King, NC, Nancy Nelson (Donny) and Ernie Smith (Patty) of Galax; her grandchildren, Beth Hewett of Southport, NC, Craig Sames of King, NC, Andy Hewett, Jamie Smith and Michael Smith (Alena) of Galax; her stepgrandson Kenneth Jennings (Amy) of Fries, VA; and her sisters, Shirley Felts (Grady) of Galax, Betty Payne (Roger) of Galax and Charlene Bunn (Charles) of Galax. She is also survived by 5 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
