He was predeceased by : his parents, Charles Dyer and Myrtle Millwood Wright; his grandson William Brandon Martin; his siblings, Betty (Buck Davis), Lois (Junior Jennings) and Maurice; and his sister-in-law Patsy Wright.

He is survived by : his wife Frances Diamond Wright; his daughter Denise of Galax, Virginia; his son-in-law William Martin of Galax, Virginia; his grandchildren, Lindsey (Terrell Wilson), Bryan (Josie Martin) and Kaitlyn Martin; his great grandchildren, Kinsley Wilson and Madisyn Wilson; his sister Barbara Ann; and his brother-in-law David Harmon of Fries, Virginia. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
