He was predeceased by: his parents, John Hutchens and Lona Vernon Hutchens of Galax, VA; and his sister Geneva Hale of Galax. He is survived by: his wife De Hutchins; his daughters, Michelle (Rob Cook), Christine Szydlowski and Licia Szydlowski (Seth Harrison); his grandchildren, Jessica Cook, Grayson McKinney (Lea) and Joseph Cooper; his stepgrandchildren, Reilly Harrison and Cooper Harrison; his nephews, Greg and Jeff; and his niece Pam.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Midway Baptist Church.
