She was predeceased by: her parents, Andrew Gates and Gracie Beatrice Lineberry Mabe; and her brothers, Larry Mabe and Gary Mabe. She is survived by: her husband Jesse Lee Sumner; her daughter Rosetta Grace Edwards; her son-in-law Chris Todd; her brother Randy of Galax, Virginia; her sister-in-law Lesa Mabe of Galax, Virginia; her grandsons, Geoffrey Lee Edwards and Shane David Williams; and her close friends, Jewel Grimes and Melissa Gravely. She is also survived by six great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; several great-nieces and nephews.
A graveside service was held on Sunday, May 3rd 2026 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the George Lineberry Cemetery (Galax, VA 24333).
