In the hush of twilight, as the stars twinkle in silent homage, we reflect on the legacy Garnett Stephen leaves behind and his impact on the lives of his loved ones. Though Garnett Stephen may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the memories held dear by his family and friends, a guiding light that illuminates their paths in times of darkness.
He was predeceased by: his parents, James Leroy and Ruby Frazier McKenzie; and his wife Hazel Melton McKenzie. He is survived by: his daughters, Pippa (Harry Smith), Kay (Gary Ramey) and Amanda (Brad Prosser); and his sisters, Agnes McKenzie of Galax, Virginia and Virginia McKenzie of Galax, Virginia. He is also survived by ten grandchildren; fourteen-great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 11th 2025 from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home (201 W Center St, Galax, VA 24333). A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, June 11th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the McKenzie Cemetery.
