He was predeceased by : his parents, Lee Thomason and Inez Baker Thomason; and his siblings, Harry Thomason, Clarence Thomason, Bobby Thomason, Mary Hawks, Helen Thomason, Betty Reid and Dorothy Tillotson.

He is survived by : his wife Alice Thomason; his stepchildren, Patrick (Terri Buckner) and Angela Buckner; and his stepgrandson Colton Buckner (Mandy Martin). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
