James C. Gardner Obituary
We announce the death of James C. Gardner of Galax, Virginia, who passed away on October 10, 2026, at the age of 86. James will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Leo Gardner and Golda Agee Gardner; his brothers, David Gardner and Randolph Gardner; his sister-in-law Nelva Gardner; and his nephew Tommy Gardner.
He is survived by: his wife Patty Gardner; his children, Wayne Gardner (Wanda), Kenny Gardner (Teresa) and Becky Hylton (Greg); and his brothers, Calvin Gardner and Bobby Gardner, Sr. (Mary). He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 13th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Wednesday, October 14th 2026 at 10:00 AM. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 14th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Bible Baptist Church (1120 Greenville Rd, Galax, VA 24333).
