He was predeceased by : his parents, Harold Byron and Mae Etta Sharp Porter; his wife Patricia Bernice Geberth Porter; and his daughter Terry Ann Locklear. He is survived by : his daughter Christina; his son-in-law Tommy Webb; his sons, Steve Porter of Galax, Virginia, Johnny Porter of Galax, Virginia and Brian Porter of Galax, Virginia; his siblings, Etta Mae (Phillip Manning), Vera Horton of Woodlawn, Virginia and Alvin; and his sister-in-law Jean Porter of Galax, Virginia. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
