She was predeceased by: her parents, Carl Blackburn and Etta Duncan Blackburn; her son Danny Ray Donithan; and her siblings, Shirley Caudill Brewer, Gwyn Church, Gayle Blackburn and James Blackburn.
She is survived by: her husband Ruedolph Rutherford of Galax, Virginia; and her sister Pauline "Polly" Burcham of Galax, Virginia. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
