She was predeceased by: her parents, Donald Bryan and Evelyn Schuyler Carr; her husband Charlie Alfred Bowman; her brothers, Kenneth Delane Carr and Lawrence Voit; and her grandparents, Cora (Wingate) and Boyd Carr.
She is survived by: her children, Donald Ray Bowman (Virginia) of Galax, William Delane Bowman (Dianne) of Greensboro North Carolina, Sky Preece (Virginia) of Buchanan and Danita (Mike Jackson) of Laurel Fork, Virginia; her sister-in-law Pam Voit of Parker, Colorado; her grandchildren, Michaela Jackson (Andrea Jackson) of Laurel Fork, Haley Preece (Virginia) of Blue Ridge, Grayson Preece (Virginia) of Bridgewater and Amber (Patrick Hill) of Galax; and her great grandchild Christian Hill of Galax, Virginia. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 25th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home (201 W Center St, Galax, VA 24333). A funeral service will be held on Sunday, October 25th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Sunday, October 25th 2026 at the New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery.
