He was predeceased by : his sisters, Mildred and Lois. He is survived by : his wife Patricia N. Martin; his children, Lisa (Steve Irvin) and Mark (Tonya Martin); and his grandchildren, Brooks Irvin (Abigail), Alex Irvin (Sarah), Cory Martin (Kristen), Courtney Gray (Kaleo) and Lauren Dennis (Mitch). He is also survived by eleven great grandchildren.

A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 6th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the First Christian Church (402 N Jefferson St, Galax, VA 24333).

In lieu of flowers the family respectfully request donations be made to the Mt. Valley Hospice , 7599-C Carrollton Pike, Galax, Virginia 24333 or to the charity of the donor's choice.
