He was predeceased by: his parents, Joe Thomas and Alberta Rutherford Allen; and his siblings, Helen Allen, Edna Ruth Edwards, Rita McKenzie and Joe Thomas Allen Jr..

He is survived by: his daughter Ashley; his son-in-law Adam Houk of Galax, Virginia; his son Josh; his daughter-in-law Charlee Allen of Lake Wylie; his grandchildren, Cameron Allen, Madison Allen, Briggston Houk, Finnley Houk and Dakota Baker (Shane); and his niece Brenda Fender.

The family requests in lieu of flowers that a donation be made to the Carroll County High School Golf Team.
