It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Rufus Olson Eastridge of Galax, Virginia, who passed away on September 16, 2023, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his parents, Lee Stephen and Annie Adkins Eastridge; his wife Ruby Dell Melton Eastridge; and his siblings, Crilda (T. M. Jones), Rilda Holdaway and Wilburn Eastridge.

He is survived by : his daughter Melissa Gravely of Galax, Virgina; his sisters, Milda Bowers of Woodlawn, Virginia, Hilda Lineberry of Woodlawn, Virginia and Tilda Phillips of Galax, Virginia; his sister-in-law Margaret Eastridge; his grandsons, Brandon Gravely and Kevin Gravely; and also Roger Jones. He is also survived by ten great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and a very special friend.
