He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie Melton and Grace Melton; his sister Guida Carico; and his wife Nell Williams Melton. He is survived by: his children, Kenneth Melton (Sandra) of Galax and Regina Clark (Jerry) of Greensboro; and his grandchildren, Tammy Cain of Auburn, Charlie Hiser of Chapel Hill and Sarah Harden of Beaufort. He is also survived by three great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 8th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Mt. Pisgah Church of Christ (716 Fries Rd, Galax, VA 24333). A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, November 8th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Sunday, November 8th 2026 at the Monta Vista Cemetery (1030 Glendale Rd, Galax, VA 24333).
