She was predeceased by: her parents, Clarence Thomas and Effie Dale Burton (Mitchell); and her husband David Allen Darnell. She is survived by: her siblings, Lou Finch (Ray), Fred Burton, Bobby Burton (Ann), Lee Burton and John Burton. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, November 5th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Gate City Funeral Home (136 Beech St, Gate City, VA 24251). A graveside service will be held on Thursday, November 6th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Grassy Creek Cemetery (1445 South 71, Castlewood, VA 24224).
