With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Ford Carter Quillen (Gate City, Virginia), who passed away on January 18, 2026 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Cecil Dyer Quillen and Mary Louise Carter Quillen; and his wife Gail Quillen. He is survived by: his daughters, Madre Forsha (Mike Thomas), Carter Brown (Thomas Joseph Brown) and Lenoir McClung (Marcus McClung); his grandchildren, Kristopher Forsha (Margaret Forsha), Anna McClung Ray (Nolan Ray), Mac McClung, Cam McClung, Connor Brown (Caroline Brown) and Patrick Brown; his brother Cecil Dyer Quillen, Jr. (Vicey Quillen); and his nieces and nephews, Ann Quillen Macaulay (Alexander Macaulay) and Cecil Dyer Quillen, III (Mary Quillen). He is also survived by six great-grandchildren.
