He was predeceased by: his parents, Bordie Porter and Eulalee Agee Porter; and his siblings, Emory Porter and Wilma Shelton. He is survived by: his wife Betty Porter; his daughter Nancy Lane; his siblings, Lois Kyllonen, Lloyd Porter and Bill Porter (Irene); and his sister-in-law Jean Flanary.
