He was predeceased by: his parents, Wrightly D. Spivey and Dona Serena McDavid Spivey; his son Jeffery Lee Spivey; his wife Mary Elizabeth Spivey; and his siblings, Orville, James, Don, Claude Spivey and Ida Mae Spivey.
He is survived by: his daughter Darlene Spivey (Jamie McCann); his grandchildren, Steven Bryan Flanary (Jessica), Dustin Wade Flanary and Rachel Nicole Spivey; his great grandchildren, Steven Wyatt Flanary, Liam Wade Flanary and Abigail Rachel Flanary; his sisters, Dorothy Hammonds and Eloise Wolfenbarger; and his friends, Melissa Flanary, Brenda, James, Hollie Estep and Elminia Dougherty. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
