He was predeceased by: his parents, Boyd Lewis and Rebecca Tuner Lewis; his former wife Mary Alice Lewis; his wife Joan Nickels Lewis; his daughter Carol Elaine Buchanan; and his siblings, Carmel Robinette, June Kleineick, Betty Shady, Margaret Lewis, James and Jack Lewis.
He is survived by: his son Dennis Boyd Lewis (Patsy); his grandchildren, Cristy Lewis, Brad Lewis (Allison) and Mindy Carroll (Josh); and his great grandchildren, Elijah, Reed Lewis and Jesse Carroll. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, or to Holston View Methodist Church, 174 Church Street, Weber City, VA 24290 in the name of Robert Boyd Lewis.
