He was predeceased by: his parents, William Riner and Hannah Riner (Mullins); and his wife Barbara Kay Riner (Yeary). He is survived by: his son Greg Riner (Debra) of Vinton, VA; his grandson Lewis Altis; and his brothers, Wayne Riner (Genevie) of Nora, VA and Gary Riner (Joanna) of Clinton, TN.
Visitation was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Gate City Funeral Home (136 Beech St, Gate City, VA 24251). A memorial service was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location.
