He was predeceased by: his son Jeffrey Slade Evans; and his siblings, Brenda Hubbard, Dasima "Sissy" Bagby, Loretta Berry and Keith Evans.
He is survived by: his wife Kathy Ratcliffe Evans; his children, Daniel Evans (Kim) and Jennifer Evans; his stepsons, Jason Harris and Jeremy Harris (Christina); his sisters, Phyllis Frayser (Ronald), Melva Thulan and Sherry Goetz; his grandchildren, Hunter Harris, Landon Harris, Tiffany Evans of Bo Evans, J. R, Holford and Kirstan Sargent; and his brother-in-law Nicholas Ratcliffe (Regina). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 9th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Farris Funeral Service – Main Street Chapel (427 E Main St, Abingdon, VA 24210). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 9th 2025 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, December 10th 2025 at 10:45 AM and from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the Old Glade Presbyterian Church Cemetery (33234 Lee Hwy, Glade Spring, VA 24340).
