He was predeceased by: his parents, Oliver "Perk" Hurd and Fannie "Kate" Hurd; his son Israel Hurd; and his brothers, Gene, Ernest and Jack Hurd.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley Alexander; his children, Vikki Widener (David) and Ricky Hurd (Christie); his grandchildren, Cody (Kailin), Chase (Alyssa), Troy and Ainsley; and his sisters, Doris Hurd, Mary Phibbs, Linda Yarber and Maxie Hayden (Haynes). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
