With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Phyllis Fay Jessee of Glade Spring, Virginia, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. She was predeceased by: her husband Elwood Jessee; her daughter Melissa Jeanette Garcia; her parents, Harley Cannon (Thelma) and Josephine Urbani Cannon; and her grandson Aaron Deel.
She is survived by: her children, Dewey Jessee (Tammy), Becky Shortridge (Rusty), Cindy Jessee Deel and Amanda Mitchell (Derek); her son-in-law Luis "Shorty" Garcia; her siblings, David, Timmy, Charlie Cannon, Linda Steffey and Brenda Caywood; her grandchildren, Kristie Powers (Aaron), Avery Jessee, Santana Miller (Brian), Isaac Jessee, Piper Stuart, Luis Garcia, Chelsea Stuart, Brianna Stuart, Caitlyn Garrett (Peyton), Drew Shortridge (Laura) and Samantha Head (Casey); her great grandchildren, Ava, Addison, Jaxton Powers, Cali, Wyatt, Mattie Jessee, Nolan, Myles Miller, Tate, Sadie Shortridge, Amelia, Clara Garrett, Tucker and Sutton Head; her nephews, Joe Cannon and Wayne "Peanut" Cannon; and her close friends, Steve Herndon and Ralph Baldwin.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 21st 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Henderson Funeral Home (148 E Main St, Saltville, VA 24370). A procession will be held on Friday, May 22nd 2026 at 10:30 AM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Friday, May 22nd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Mount Rose Cemetery (10069 Crescent Rd, Glade Spring, VA 24340).
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to D.R. Henderson Funeral Home to assist with funeral expenses.
