Barbara Funai Prokopis Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Barbara Funai Prokopis of Glen Allen, Virginia, who passed away on June 24, 2022, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her husband John Prokopis of Winston; her son Nick; and her siblings, Vernon, Robert, Jackie, William, Catherine, Beulah and Anna.

She is survived by: her children, Tonia Dowell, John Jr. (Lisa), Gus (Bonnie) and Chris (Tammy); her grandchildren, Stacy, Taylor, Alexa, Jonathan (Vannessa) and Nathan Braxton (Michelle); and her great grandchildren, Lily, Ben and Cheyenne.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in the name of Barbara to the American Diabetes Association.
